Membership
The Jewish Genealogy Society of Greater Washington was founded in
1980 to collect, preserve, and disseminate Jewish genealogical
knowledge and information.
The Society seeks to attain its objectives by:

Promoting genealogical research.

Providing instruction in the use of research methodology and
adherence to standards of accuracy.

Fostering careful documentation and promoting scholarly
genealogical writing and publication.

Promoting the preservation of Jewish genealogical records
and resources.

Instructing and educating its members and the general public.

Membership in the society is open to anyone who is interested in
supporting its goals.

Yearly dues are $30 for an individual member and $45 for
a family; three-year memberships are available for $80 and
$120 respectively.

A Patron membership (individual or
family) is available for an annual contribution of $100; Patrons are recognized in
the Mishpacha newsletter.

A Lifetime membership (individual or
family) is available for a contribution of $500; Lifetime
members are recognized in the
Mishpacha newsletter.

Patrons and Lifetime members are also
recognized at the June Membership Appreciation Luncheon.
- The Society is certified as a non-profit organization under
Section 501(c)(3) of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code and contributions
may be tax deductible according to law.
